Portfolio - Large Formal Garden by Judith Sharpe
This formal garden benefits from width as well as depth. A stunning vista was created from the conservatory, looking up the garden. An avenue of box-head pleached hornbeams frame this view. A large, sunken patio creates a generous outdoor dining room with views across the garden.A further change of level was created, to the rear of the garden, where brick steps lead up into a 'secret' garden with gravel paths and topiary. This was an ideal location in which to hide the garden shed and compost bins from sight.
This garden was featured in the English Garden Magazine and Sir Terence Conran and Diarmuid Gavin's book 'Outdoors'.
