Portfolio - Large Country House garden by Judith Sharpe
After major restoration to this former vicarage with its 17th Century core, it was time to give this wonderful house the garden it deserved.The basic layout of the garden dates back to the mid-1950s when it was featured in Country Life. However, it was long-overdue for an update, particularly to the terrace area at the rear of the house which has been totally redesigned.
The dovecote dates back to medieval times and the orangery was rebuilt during the recent restoration of the house. This has resulted in a renaissance to both house and garden which opened again for the National Garden Scheme in 2009.
